CBCSD organized the dialogue called ˇ°Face to face: business, society and environment inspection officialsˇ± |
On Dec. 26, 2006, CBCSD, Environment Inspection Bureau of SEPA, Public Management School of Tsinghua University and American Environment Protection Association together organized the dialogue called ˇ°Face to face: business, society and environment inspection officialsˇ± in Tsinghua University. More than 60 participants, including heads from city or province-level Environment Inspection Offices, representatives from CBCSD member companies, NGOs and academies, attended the meeting. On the dialogue conference, participants had thorough, comprehensive and aspiring discussion and explored the areas of how to build the ˇ°triangle monitoring system on environmental law executionˇ±, i.e. environment inspection offices to execute related laws with the outer monitoring from the civil society and the inner monitoring from the corporations; the situation and disadvantages confronted by Chinese environment inspection offices when executing the law; the responsibility corporations should take during the law execution process; and what social organizations can do to effectively monitor the execution process. The success of this dialogue conference enhanced the dialogue and interaction among business, social communities and environment inspection officials from the government, and provided an opportunity for them to learn more and understand the other two parties. It helped to build the harmonious relationship between the three parties in the process of law execution, and would further raise the efficiency of governmentˇŻs environment inspection. |
