(April 25, 2005,Beijing) CBCSD Board and annual meetings is held at kepinski hotel. Mr. Wang jiming, president of CBCSD,  chaired this meeting and gave a presentation “CBCSD work report 2004”, followed by a signature ceremony of six new member companies joined the CBCSD, which are BHPBilliton, 、Hainan Shihua、Philips China、Alcoa 、shanghai jiasheng、Swiss Reinsurance. CBCSD working plan in 2005 and budget was also ratified during the meeting.

Since CBCSD was found on Jan, 16th last year, CBCSD has initiated work by implementing guidelines of comprehensive, harmonious and scientific sustainable approaches given by Chinese government, launched programmes and activities according charter, through all these efforts, we have achieved the expected goals

This meeting mainly discussed the deep strategic planning on sustainable development in China. About 80 people, including the board member of CBCSD and member companies senior leaders participated this meeting, Mr. Stigson, president of WBCSD, joined the meeting and gave a speech.

 The workshop of new trends of sustainable development is open at 2pm, the first speaker is Mr. Stigsen, president of WBSCD，his topic is “Business, Society and sustainable development”.

Mr. stigson pointed out that China is the second largest consumer of oil after the USA, and accounts for two-fifths of the increase in global consumption since 2000, China's population is 1.31 billion people, GDP is US$ 1.41 trillion and expected to grow 8% in 2004, It already accounts for 13% of world output and largest recipient of foreign direct investment.  China produces 2/3 of all photocopiers, microwave ovens, DVD players and shoes, over 1/2 of all digital cameras and around 2/5 personal computers. In the last two decades, almost 200 million people have been lifted out of poverty. Every year, 10 million more people join the job market

In the process of globalization, the call for Chinese enterprises comply international environment and social standards become higher，the Chinese business also request improving business sustainable development solution. In order to influence sustainable development agenda，it is necessary to increase leadership and transparency, promote engagement with multi-stakeholders, walking the talk, our conclusion is：There can’t be a sustainable world without a sustainable China.

Mr. Jiang weiming vice president of CBCSD、 gave a presentation on “ implementing CSR，towards sustainable development”. He introduced how to achieve business sustainable development according corporate real situation with example of the Novozymes，the first step is to set up corporate culture- sustainable concept, which includes  promoting sustainable community，building modern waste water treatment equipment，using after treated water to irrigate grass land  , producing organic bio waste to fertilizer and free give to surrounding farmer, support local college student to implement environmental survey, building occupational health and safety system，keep environmental assessment and safe monitoring report, , carrying out safety training and mobilize staff to participation.
Professor Li yining from Guanghua Management school of Peking university and Mr.Colin from BP also gave excellent speech on sustainable development on the afternoon.
Mr.Wang Jiming ended up the workshop, he emphasized CBCSD should improve dissemination and attract new member companies, actively promote CSR in China.
