A coal deposit of 2.2 billion tons was discovered in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, said the source with the autonomous region geological bureau here Wednesday.
The northeast-southwest Baiyinhua coal mine is located in the western Ujimqin Banner of Xilin Gol League.
According to the bureau, the coal mine is 60 kilometers long and 9.5 kilometers wide, which is one of the top ten largest coal mines discovered in Inner Mongolia.
The coal quality of the mine is high. The structure of the mine is simple and not far from the earth's surface, making it easy to exploit, said the bureau.
The autonomous region's geological bureau mobilized 116 drilling
machines and spent more than four months' to locate the coal
mine.
