China's top 500 enterprises of 2011 released

China Enterprise Confederation, and China Enterprise Director Association have released the ranking of the country's top 500 enterprises. Sinopec, China National Petroleum Corporation and the State Grid Corporation of China, remain the top three. Two other lists, China's Top 500 Manufacturers, and Top 500 Service Companies, have also been made public.

 

Sinopec top the list again. The company has taken up the place for seven consecutive years. Its operating revenue in 2011 increased 41 percent compared to the same period last year, the largest leap in 10 years.

 

The threshold of this year's top 500 is also lifted from 11 billion yuan to 14 billion. The total operating avenue of all 500 companies also jumped to 36 trillion yuan, an 18 percent increase compared to last year.

 

Wang Jiming, vice president of China Association of Enterprises, said, "A very catching characteristic this year is that the creative ability of all 500 enterprises has increased sharply. 430 enterprises invest a total of 430 billion yuan. And these 500 hundred enterprises have contributed 220 thousand patents, a 21 percent increase."

 

Wang also highlights another outstanding characteristic this year, that is, 58 Chinese top 500 enterprises are also on the world top 500 list. 15 of them appear on the list for the first time.

Also published are the Top 500 Manufacturers and Top 500 Service Companies. Sinopec, Dongfeng Moto Company and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation are the top three on the manufacturers list while State Grid, Industrial and Commercial Bank and China Mobile are the top three on the Service list.
