On 14th, Oct., CBCSD attended the launch of “Future of Urban Development” Initiative as a member of the Expert Panel. The major organizing institution of the initiative is World Economic Forum, supported by Reform Center of City and Town in National Development and Reform Commission, World Bank, Anderson Consulting, as major participants, hoping to become cooperate partners of those cities in the procedure of transforming and help them tackle grand challenges in the process of development. The main target of the initiative is to create connecting opportunities of business and city leaders and to achieve mutual benefits through corporate innovation. In 2013, the World Economic Forum plans to deepen and expand their efforts on Future of Urban Development Initiative in China. It has anchored Dalian and Zhangjiakou as pilot city and will adjust and continuously adopt the “Leading City Model” to provide strategic suggestions to cope with the challenges.
