On 29th, Nov., 2013 WBCSD Action 2020 CEO Roundtable meeting was held in Beijing, organized by Sinopec and chaired by Mr. Wang Jiming, President of CBCSD and ExCo Member of WBCSD. Around 20 participants presented this meeting, including Mr. Peter Bakker, WBCSD President & CEO, Mr. Ma Zehua, CBCSD Board and Chairman of COSCO, Mr. Chen Liming, CBCSD Board and President of BP China, Mr. Johnny Kwan, CBCSD Board and Senior VP of BASF Group, Mr. Huang Xiaojun, CBCSD Board and VP of Veolia Water China, Mr. Hu Jian, VP of DSM China, Ms. Fan Xiaohong, VP of Lafarge Shui On Cement, Mr. Zhang Qiping, Chief Engineer of SGCC and other leaders and LDs from CBCSD Board and Member Companies.
Mr. Bakker introduced the background, contents and recommendations of Action 2020, proposed nine priorities for business to promote sustainable solutions and encouraged Chinese companies to enhance cooperation. Representatives from companies shared their experience in cleaner production, climate change and social responsibility. Mr. Wang Jiming, in his conclusion, addressed that Action 2020 had special role in sustainability. He expected more technology and management innovation from CBCSD members and implement more effective sustainable solutions to promote Action 2020 in China.
