In the evening of July 6, “2013 Swiss Business Award” was held in Grand Hyatt Beijing by Swiss Chamber of Commerce in China. More than 300 economic and political leaders from both China and Switzerland attended the meeting, including Swiss Federal Councilor and Minister of Economy Mr. Schneider-Ammann, Swiss Ambassador in China Mr. Jacques de Watteville, CBCSD executive Secretary-General Mr. Zhai Qi, and President of Swiss Chamber of Commerce Mr. Peter Zhao.

The Swiss Business Awards is an event organized by the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Beijing to honor companies and individuals who have achieved distinct results and demonstrated the highest level of commitment to the Sino-Swiss community and its development. There are 5 categories in the awards: Innovator of the Year, CSR Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Chinese Investor in Switzerland and Outstanding Achievements Award. The applications of the award candidates have been reviewed by an independent jury consisting of representatives of the SwissCham Board of Directors, the Swiss Embassy in Beijing, and the private sector. The CBCSD board members and member companies proved to be the biggest winners of the “2013 Swiss Business Award”. Sinopec Addax, ABB and Holcim Group got “Chinese Investor in Switzerland”,“Innovator of the Year”, “CSR Company of the Year” respectively. The other 2 awards “Startup of the Year” and “Outstanding Achievements Award” were won by Swisstouches Hotels & Resorts and Nestlé.
