Facilitated by the Shanghai Municipal Foreign Affairs Office (SHFAO), a forum on the project of Euro-Asia Sustainable Cities was held in Qingpu District between July 5 and 7. The forum saw the attendance of over 40 delegates including representatives from project partners including Qingpu, Baoshan, European New Towns & Pilot Cities Platform (ENTP), Basildon in the U.K. and Raipur in India as well as Chinese and overseas urban planning experts.
The forum addressed such topics as city-industry integration, urban sustainable development, new town development and old city heritage.
Shao Huixiang, Deputy Director General of the SHFAO congratulated on the project’s achievements made so far and successful opening of the forum. He hopes that partners can share best ideas, practices and technologies in areas including urban planning, energy conservation and environmental protection, green and low carbon as well as public services in project cooperation and carry out pragmatic collaboration in order to reinforce each other and promote sustainable development.
