Eaton Announces Continued Progress on Leadair AG300 and COMAC C919 Development Programs at Airshow China

ZHUHAI, China … During Airshow China, power management company Eaton and aerospace business customers China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co., Ltd and COMAC announced the achievement of key milestones on two major aircraft programs — the Leadair AG300 business turboprop and the COMAC C919 single-aisle commercial airliner. Program teams have begun activities to support assembly of initial prototypes for both airplanes.

"Eaton is excited about the progress we've made on AG300 and C919 programs and our expanding role in supporting China’s developing aerospace industry,” said Benjamin Yiu, general manager - Asia Pacific, Eaton’s Aerospace Group. “Our successful cooperation on these programs also demonstrates our customers’ trust in Eaton’s aerospace products and technologies.”

Eaton is involved on the programs through Eaton SAMC Aircraft Conveyance System Manufacturing Company, Ltd. (Eaton-SAMC), Eaton's joint venture with Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

On the AG300 program, Eaton-SAMC and China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co., Ltd are finalizing the prototype aircraft's conveyance system design optimization work package. Engineering activity is expected to start this year, with delivery of two ship sets of conveyance parts planned in the first half of 2015.

For the C919 program, Eaton-SAMC recently delivered the detail design for both hydraulic and fuel conveyance system components along with customer datasets to COMAC. In October, Eaton-SAMC delivered 351 tubes for the first C919 prototype. Last year, Eaton-SAMC became the first supplier to deliver parts for the C919 and completed tube deliveries for the "iron bird" test rig.
