Shanghai, China … Power management company Eaton announced that it has received the “Energy Saving and Efficient” award as part of the 2014 China Automobile & Parts Industry Developing & Innovation award competition. The award, given Sept. 28 at Shanghai Tongji University, and recognized Eaton’s innovation and sustainability related to its automated transmission products.

Eaton's UltraShift® PLUS automated transmissions (AMT) offer the performance and versatility of a manual transmission with the simplicity of automatic designs. These transmissions provide up to a 23 percent fuel savings compared with conventional automatics according to third party test data, while reducing the wear and tear on the driveline.
The award competition was hosted by Automotive & Parts magazine, a leading trade publication that has served the Chinese automotive industry for more than 30 years. The evaluation committee was comprised of industry experts and senior publication editors, and award candidates were judged on criteria such as technology innovation, efficiency and environmental responsibility. This is the second year Eaton has won this award, winning in 2013 for its hybrid system.
