On 3th September, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) issued certificate to WISCO LIMITED to approve that the oriented and non-oriented electrical steel products produced by WISCO LIMITED were reviewed, inspected and certificated to be completely consistent with the indian standards and that WISCO LIMITED had quality assurance ability for the above mentioned products. It means WISCO electrical steel products had fully qualification for entering Indian market. 21 grades of electrical steel products pass the certification.

According to the BIS Act, the relative products before entering indian market need to be certificated to meet Indian Standards and to be permitted and approved by BIS. For a successful certification, WISCO LIMITED has set up a working group specialized in certification to guarantee the BIS certification.

This certification was harder than all previous one. BIS took half a year to finish the certification programmes for WISCO electrical steel products through a series of process such as document fillings, on-site quality assurance ability review, product quality examination and type test. It was reported that WISCO was the first iron and steel enterprise in domestic metallurgical industry to pass the BIS certification in many steel grades and varieties at once. WISCO electrical steel products were approved by Indian experts for the effective quality assurance ability,which played a positive role for WISCO in expanding overseas electrical steel market.
