Sinopec announced on December 25, 2014 that China’s first ultra-deep reef high-sulfur gas field Yuanba Gas Field was put into operation, with a capacity of 1.7 billion cubic meters of treated gas in phase 1. This marked another major achievement by Sinopec in safe and efficient development of super large ultra-deep sour gas formations in addition to the Puguang Gas Field. It is of crucial significance in accelerating energy mix restructuring, easing domestic gas supply shortage and speeding up energy conservation, emission reduction and air pollution control in China.
