Veolia has obtained the operation contracts of two biomass power plants in the south of Japan through Veolia (Japan), its subsidiary company. Takeei, the local partner, is a large local environmental service provider. Both the contracts will be effective for 20 years and can bring a total income of Euro 90 million for Veolia. The two power plants are located in Hirakawa and Hanamaki in the northeast of Japan respectively, with an annual electricity production of 100 million kilowatt-hours, equivalent to the electricity consumption of 22,000 families. The two contracts are implemented based on the cyclic utilization of local resources.
