In the autumn of 2013, President Xi Jinping proposed the initiative “One Belt and One Road” when visiting Central Asia and Southeast Asia, aiming to strengthen the interconnection of countries along the route, promote the pragmatic cooperation and cultural and educational exchanges among countries and accelerate the sustainable development of the economy and society for the countries. Two years later, the initiative “One Belt and One Road” has begun to transform into action. This March, China issued the document Vision and Action for Promoting the Co-construction of “One Belt and One Road”. So far, more than 60 countries and international organizations have expressed the will to participate in the construction of “One Belt and One Road”. It is widely believed that this initiative goes with the tide of regional and global cooperation and is in the common interests of all parties.
