Alcoa Predicts This Year's Historical New High in Aluminum Demand

The world's third biggest aluminum producer Alcoa indicated on the 11th that the global aluminum demand in the year 2016 will increase by 6% up to 60.5 million metric tons which reached a new high, and that by the time there will be a supply shortage of 1.2 million metric tons in aluminum market. Alcoa estimates that due to the strong demand for large commercial aircraft and jet plane engines, this year's global aviation aluminum sales will grow by 8% to 9%, automotive aluminum up by 1% to 4%.
