On June 29, Seatrade Awards 2018, which also marked the 30th anniversary of the awards program, was hosted by Seatrade in London. COSCO SHIPPING participated in the event on invitation and won the Global Performer Award for its remarkable contribution to the global shipping and related industries as the world’s biggest shipping group since its restructuring in 2016. Mr. Wang Gang, Managing Director of COSCO SHIPPING (UK) received the trophy on behalf of the group.
Launched by Seatrade in 1989, Seatrade Awards is an annual awards program which is aimed at encouraging – through strict panel evaluation and selection – influential organizations and individuals that have made major contributions to the maritime shipping and related industries. Seatrade Awards is one of the world’s most authoritative awards programs in the global maritime industry, with extensive influence in the world maritime community.
The ceremony was held in the century-old Landmark Hotel in London. More than 300 senior executives of well-known international organizations and enterprises, including the world maritime and ports administrations, shipping companies, offshore oil companies, ship builders, service providers, classification societies, port companies, banks, research institutions as well as education and training institutes, were present at the award ceremony.
