Developing countries share common dreams to realize modernization, reduce poverty and pursue prosperity, said Lin Yifu, Honorary Dean of National School of Development and Dean of Institute of South-South Cooperation and Development, Peking University. Economy in developed countries is dominated by service industry and thus is rarely threatened by climate anomaly. However, developing countries are more vulnerable when coping with climate anomaly due to their single economic and industrial structure and low income level. According to climate change agreements, new carbon emission capacity is very low. If developed countries did not take the lead to reduce carbon emission, it would be impossible to realize industrialization in developing countries.Click here to read the Chinese news
