In his government work report this year, Premier Li Keqiang said that urbanization is an inevitable path toward modernization, and the largest source of domestic demand and driving force of growth. New urbanization, emphasized by the Premier on many occasions, is a people-oriented process. We should promote coordinated development of new urbanization and modern agriculture, allowing more farmers to move to and live in cities and creating more ways to increase their incomes. Meanwhile, various-scale operations should be encouraged to raise farming productivity and product competitiveness.
