The Fifth Shenzhen International Low Carbon City Forum and Italian Day, September 6th-8th_Post Event

The Fifth Shenzhen International Low Carbon City Forum - The Italian Day, was held on September 6th 2017, in the Shenzhen International Low Carbon City. It represented the first act of the China Italy (EU) Sustainable Innovation Collaboration in Urbanization and the enterprise exhibitions. The Fifth Shenzhen International Low Carbon City Forum lasted until 8th September with the enterprise exhibitions, standing for the second part of the event.  

The exhibitions' focus was not only on the cutting-edge technologies and projects of Italian enterprises, but also provide cooperation and in-depth consultation between participants and enterprises.

The event was kicked off by a welcome speech from the Leader of Shenzhen Municipality, followed by H.E. Ettore F. Sequi Ambassador of Italy to China. 

           

After him, a speech has been held by Francesco La Camera General Director of Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea, immediately followed by the Chairman of CICC, Davide Cucino.           

   

A keynote Speech was held by Francesco Profumo, Former Minister of Education of Italy, followed by the speech of Tie Li, Chairman & Chief Economist of CCUD, NDRC.

After the speech, the Coordinator of EEPWG, Mr. Guido D. Giacconi held a panel discussion with Italian Companies: Asja Renewables (Mr. Paolo Bazzoni), Giacomini (Mr. Roberto Ferraro) Riello (Mr. Gabriele Scapin) and CNH Industrial (Mr. Michelangelo Amelia). Special thanks go to Mr. Giacconi for his contribution to the organization of the Italian Day.

After the closing speech held by the Leader of Shenzhen Municipality, all the members moved to the Exhibition Zone.

On the following day, the Main Forum was held, with a series of keynote speeches on different aspects of low carbon development, climate change, and future trends of the industry. In particular, Mr. Francesco Profumo took the stage to deliver a speech on global decarburization, focusing on the key role that electricity production will play in the energy transition process in the near future.

   

After the Main Forum, the Italian Delegation - composed of representatives of Italian companies participating in the Forum, members of the Italian Consulate, and the Embassy of Italy - went on with a series of institutional visits and a visit to two important Italian companies in the area, Luxottica and Somacis. After this, the delegation took part in a series of meeting with the Italian Business Community of Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
