The fourth Digital Belt and Road Conference was held in Shenzhen on Tuesday by Digital Belt and Road Program (DBAR) team of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
More than 200 officials, scholars and professionals from 29 countries shared insights into sustainable development and discussed their latest applications of DBAR.
The program is a data-driven international science program for the sustainable development of the Belt and Road region with a goal to achieve the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Initiated in 2016, the program has established cooperation among above 50 countries and international organizations, who are sharing data, technologies and advanced plans.
The Republic of Armenia signed a memorandum of understanding to join the DBAR at the forum. Artak Piloyan, head of Geodesy and Cartography Department in Cadastre Committee of the Republic of Armenia, said they were looking forward to improving national land management and environment supervision ability through participating in the scheme.
DBAR Chairman Guo Huadong said the partnership of the program has expanded in the last three years from Asia to Europe and Africa, involving both developed and developing countries.
He said the Belt and Road countries are showing growing interest into SDGs and China's technology and comprehensive solutions in the sector can help the region to pursue sustainable development together.
