Survey on SDG Localization: LRG Report to the HLPF 2020
Date:04-16-2020 Source:
Since 2016, United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) is reporting every year, on behalf of the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments, to the High Level Political Forum of the United Nations on the role of local and regional governments in the localization of the SDGs. The next report will be presented in July 2020.
These reports are only possible thanks to the support of our members and all the information and knowledge they can share about their contribution to the implementation of the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda.
We kindly invite our regional sections, the national associations of local and regional governments and all our members, local governments and regions to answer the Survey on SDG Localization. You may download the survey or complete it online.

For our European members: the World Secretariat of UCLG, together with the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) and PLATFORMA, has developed a specific survey for European members. This survey will be distributed by CEMR/CEMR and PLATFORMA to all their members, but is also available through the following links: to download the survey, please click here, and to complete it online, please click here. Please ensure that you only respond once to the SDG localization survey.
The 2020 HLPF is going to focus on the "Accelerated action and transformative pathways: realizing the decade of action and delivery for sustainable development". Therefore, in our report this year, we would like to underline innovative actions or integrated initiatives developed by our members to contribute to accelerate the localization of the SDGs. We need your support to share and include in your answers cases studies or information about these experiences that could be included in our report to show the implementation efforts of our constituency.
This call is especially important for the local governments, and their national associations, from the 51 countries that have committed to submit their national reviews to the 2020 HLPF. A full list of countries by region is available below. Of course, feedback from any countries will be most appreciated, and will help us prepare a more comprehensive report.
UCLG looks forward to your contributions and support to this initiative. We will appreciate it if you could send the filled-in survey back to UCLG before April 20, 2020, to the following address: gold@uclg.org.
