Ministry of Transport (MOT) of People's Republic of China issued opinions on promoting shipping industry upgrading and transformation, which proposed to endeavor to improve the market structure of shipping capacity, promote the expansion of new economic growth point, boost energy conservation and emission reduction , maintain healthy market order and create favorable development environment. As a result, backward shipping capacity will be eliminated from the market; shipping companies will maintain stable increase in production and operation and hold increasing market specialization and intensification.
