The 3rd Green Industry Conference（UNIDO ）is held on November 7th in Guangzhou. In order to facilitate green industry and low-carbon development, UNIDO organizes the Green Industry Conference biennially since 2009. It is held in China for the first time. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Accelerating construction of green industry system & promoting coordinated development of industry and ecosystem”. Important issues like successful case studies of global green industry and cleaner production in key industries will be discussed. , organized by Ministry of Industry and Information and United Nation Industrial Development Organization

 

Mr. Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology addresses in his speech: China's industry development faces several problems like heavy energy consumption and low energy efficiency. Energy consumption per unit of GDP is 2.2 times as the world average level, and the  unit energy consumption of steel cement and other industry products is 20% higher than that in developed countries. Hence, China's industry system should stick to the principle of "eliminating outdated production facilities, improving present production facilities and building new production facilities following high standard", accelerate the pace of closing down outdated production facilities and replace them by advanced ones, promote the application of energy saving and emission reduction information technology , drive the green and low-carbon industry development, and promote coordinated development of industry and ecosystem.
