President and Director of China International Marine Containers(Group) Ltd.

Mr. Boliang Mai was born in January 1959, in Zhaoqing city, Guangdong province, P. R. C.

From 1978 to 1982, Mr. Mai studied at Mechanical Engineering Department of South China University of Technology.

Since 1982, Mr. Mai has started his career in CIMC. In 1991, Mr. Mai started to take the management responsibility to the whole company. In 1992, Mr. Mai took the position as the acting general manager of CIMC. Since February 1993, Mr. Mai has been appointed as president and CEO of CIMC.

Mr. Mai also serves for many social organizations, including:

---Founding Director of China Business Council for Sustainable Development;

---Chairman of China Federation of Industrial Economics;

---Vice Chairman of China Society for Research on Economic System Reform;

---Vice Chairman of China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Machinery & Electronics Products;

---Vice Chairman of China Communication Transportation Association;

---Vice Chairman of China Logistics Association;

---Chairman of China Container Industry Association;

---Commissioner of Guangdong CPPCC.

Mr. Boliang Mai is the first generation engineer of container industry in China. From graduation till now, Mr. Mai started his career in CIMC. In 1992, Mr. Mai was appointed as general manager by the Board. Under his leadership, CIMC grew into a world class company from a small plant.

Mr. Mai grasped the historic opportunity in container manufacture industry. In the early 90’s, CIMC gradually laid out the complete production and service network along China coastline. Since 1996 the output and sales volume of CIMC have been remaining No.1 in the world for consecutive 12 years. CIMC is the only enterprise in the world that has the capability to provide one-stop service to whole series container products, with its own intellectual property right.

In April 2002, CIMC initially entered into road vehicle manufacture field. Through M&A and self-establishing, CIMC has established 17 manufacture facilities and 19 sales service companies,covering China, Thailand and North America, and formed interacting and mutual supporting industry structure. The annual output of special vehicle is over 150,000 units. In 2004, CIMC became the largest vehicle manufacture group and exporter in China, and in 2006, CIMC became the largest in the world.

In 2007, CIMC completed the acquisition of Burg Industry Group and Enric Energy Equipment Holdings Limited. Through global integration and resource deployment, CIMC started to build up the global operation platform for its tank equipment business, providing the first-class equipments and services to the worldwide customers in the energy, chemical and food industries globally.

In 2008, CIMC purchased 17.860% of shares issued outward by Yantai Raffles Shipyard Limited and became the largest shareholder of the company, which laid a foundation for the competence on building Mobile Offshore Drilling Rig and its matching ships.

In 2005, CIMC took up the largest global market share of new orders in Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB) business, and successfully entered into the market of over 10 countries and regions, covering USA, Europe, Africa, and Southeast Asia. CIMC manufactured PBBs for Charles deGaulle International Airport of Paris, for the largest airplane A380/B787. Also CIMC is the first manufacture of Ship Passenger Boarding Bridge in China.

It is Mr. Mai’s unremitting life goal to build CIMC into a world class enterprise, and to be responsible to all stakeholders, including staff, investors, industry, and country. With his leadership, CIMC becomes widely recognized by all walks of the society. Regarded as the banner of China Blue Chip listed Companies.

In 2006, CIMC ranked No.8 of Top 100 China Most Value Public Companies in the stock market and No.5 of Top 100 China Companies on Security Committee Office charts. In 2007, CIMC ranked No. 1475 of Top 2000 World Leading Companies by Forbes, No. 8 of Top China’s Companies with Most Competitiveness by “Global Entrepreneurs” and Rolandberger. No.21 of Top 50 Asia Companies by Business Weekly. CIMC also ranked No.48 of Top 500 Manufacturing Enterprenurs released by China Enterprises Association and China Entrepreneurs Association. In 2006,CIMC ranked No.40 on Top 200 China Enterprises With Optimum Returns. In 2007, “CIMC” container was identified as China Renowned Brand. In 2007, CIMC brand was honored “Chinese World Brand” by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China.

His outstanding performance wins the wide respect in the international container industry and shipping industry. Mr. Mai has been invited to attend the International Intermodal Annual Conference and made speeches several times. As a renowned business leader, Mr. Mai was invited to Dialogue program of CCTV in March 2002, as the first honorable guest of the Forum for International Competition Power of Chinese Enterprise. In April 2002, Mr. Mai attended China Business Summit with the invitation of World Economic Forum and delivered a speech on How to Face up the Challenge of Entering WTO for China Entrepreneur. The same year, Mr. Mai was honored as Top 10 Most Valuable Manager in China. In 2004, Mr. Mai was honored as CCTV 2004 China Economic Celebrity. In April 2005, Mr. Mai was invited to attend Boao Forum for Asia and made topic speech. In 2005, Mr. Mai was honored as Top 25 Business Leader with Strong Influence in China by Fortune Chinese Version. In 2006, Mr. Mai was honored as Person of the year of Shenzhen Enterpriser with “Excellence Award” In 2007,Mr. Mai honored as Hundred Worthy during China open to the outside world for 30years together by China economic weekly, People Daily( English) and People.com.

Many famous universities invited Mr. Mai to give lectures, including Wharton School, UC Berkeley HAAS  Business School, Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, China Europe International Business School, China National School of Administration, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Zhe Jiang University, Shanghai Jiaotong University and South China University of Technology.
