Per Marius Berrefjord
Mr. Per Marius Berrefjord is the Managing Director of DNV Sustainability Centre, which is located in Beijing.
He was born in 1956, Norwegian. Married and has two daughters. He got an MSc of Electrical engineering from Norwegian Technical University in Trondheim, Norway in 1978.
He worked as a researcher for SINTEF, the largest independent research organization in Scandinavia 1979 -1983.
He joined DNV in 1983 and has since then worked in different technical and managerial positions in Norway and abroad serving different industries.
He was a project manager in DNV for large unconventional projects, such as the first sub-sea production systems in the North Sea, the design of the world`s largest ice breaker in Canada and the 6.5 meter elevation of 12 interconnected offshore production platforms at the Ekofisk field in the North Sea.
He was assigned as the head a new section for electrical, computer and instrumentation systems, ship classification and offshore work, 1989 – 1993.
DNV district Manager in Koje island, Korea. This is the location of the Daewoo and Samsung yards, two of the largest and most advanced in the world, 1993 – 1994,.
He took the position of manager for DNV Approval Centre in Pusan, Korea. At that time the centre was making technical support and drawing, approval for yards, designers, manufacturers and ship owners in Korea, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Australia during the 1994 to 1998.
1998 – 2000, he was the head of Department Ship Newbuilding in Oslo, Norway. He was responsible for the DNV ship newbuilding activity and took the head of Department for a new department for Ship Newbuilding and In-Operation in Oslo, Norway, responsible for the newbuilding and in-operation activities.
2000 – 2008, head of global strategy and business development in DNV Maritime.
2009 – Present, Head of the DNV Sustainability Centre in Beijing.
