Yu Dahai
Dr. Dahai Yu joined the Research and Development department of Degussa AG (since September 12, 2007: Evonik Industries AG)in 1990 and is now working as the President Evonik Greater China Region and the Chairman of Evonik Degussa (China) Co., Ltd.
During his 19 year's with Evonik, Dr. Yu has held various positions in the company,including Product Manager Fine Chemicals, Director of Corporate Development /Strategic Planning, Senior Vice President of Controlling, Division Fine and Industrial Chemicals and Vice President & General Manager Agrochemicals and Intermediates. In 2006 he returned to China and was appointed Chairman of Degussa (China) Co. Ltd. as well as the Regional President Greater China.
Dr. Yu was born in Shanghai on August 1, 1961. With the scholarship from Ministry of Education of China, he went to study chemistry in Germany and was awarded a doctorate degree by the University of Hamburg in 1989. During his study in the university, he was awarded the scholarship of Hermann-Schlosser Foundation for several times, which was funded at that time by Degussa AG. He joined the company after he finished his study.
