Sinowind

Beijing Sinowind is a wholly foreign owned enterprise incorporated in the PRC, engaged in the manufacture and sale of wind turbines in both China and abroad. Administrative offices are located in Beijing.
The technology for Sinowind’s FC2000kw wind turbine is licensed from Windtec, an Austria-based subsidiary of American Superconductor (NYSE). Windtec technology is utilized in roughly 10% of world wind turbine installations. Sinowind also has an option to license Windtec’s 5mw turbine technology for offshore applications, and expects to compete in that market by 2013.
Sinowind has a complete supply chain of Chinese and international wind turbine component manufacturers. Nearly all the components for the 2mw turbine are also utilized in the widely-used 1.65mw turbine, and are approved and accepted both in China and worldwide. The electrical control systems are produced by Windtec directly in their Suzhou facility. Sinowind can produce both the traditional DF (dual fed) turbines and the new-generation FC (full conversion) ‘grid-friendly’ turbines.
Current capacity is 600mw per year (25 turbines/month). Sinowind plans to increase manufacturing capacity so as to be able to keep up with its export business.
Sinowind has sales representation in Beijing, New York and Washington DC, and local partners in Latin America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Sinowind has signed purchase orders and MOU’s for wind projects totaling more than 1,700mw and 3 years’ annual production at current capacity. Sinowind estimates 2011 deliveries at US$300mm, and bankable orders by year end of more than US$2bln.
