Cemtrex to Pursue CDM Projects in China

Cemtrex Inc. announced today that it will be pursuing Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects in the areas of greenhouse gases abatement and energy efficiency in China. Since China ratified the Kyoto Protocol, the Chinese agencies have been working to define and develop programs to reduce carbon emissions in cooperation with international partners under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) emissions reductions trading program. China's State Development and Planning Commission (SDPC), Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), State Economic and Trade Commission (SETC) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) have spelled out draft guidelines for a National CDM Management Office.
"As of May 2006, China has only seven projects registered with the CDM Executive Board, out of a total of 150 registered projects worldwide," said Mr. Aron Govil, President & CEO of Cemtrex. "We plan to pursue CDM projects in coal-bed methane technology, reduction of CO2 emissions from coal-fired utility boilers, and renewable energy diversification."
