Energy conservation is a basic policy of our country, but also the inevitable choice to realize China's sustainable economic development. Chemical industry, as the major energy-consuming industry, should pay more attention to this issue. Energy conservation is to take technically feasible and economically reasonable measures to improve energy efficiency and minimize energy consumption. Presently, measures for energy conservation and emission reduction adopted in chemical industry include: 1.adoption of new technology and equipment;
2. Reduction of power consumption;
3. Comprehensive energy utilization;
4. Descaling and anticorrosion heat preservation;
5. Enhancing energy management.
