China to promote making working schedule of low-carbon communities pilots

According to the Low-carbon Communities Pilots Work Seminar held by the NDRC, in order to implement the relative deployment of low-carbon communities construction in Work Plan of Controlling Greenhouse Gas Emission during the 12th Five Plan and controlling the energy consumption and carbon emission in lives of residents, China is moving quickly to formulate relative files and work plans about low-carbon communities pilots, which makes the base of official start of low-carbon communities pilots construction.

Su Wei, the Director General of Climate Change Bureau, NDRC, says that with the promotion of urbanization and changes of citizens’ life styles in China, energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission in urban area are on the rise. As a result, implementation of low-carbon communities pilots is an important exploration of new urbanization in China, a significant measure of controlling the greenhouse gas emission in citizens’ lives, an effective means of exploring new patterns of low-carbon communities operation and management and has tremendous impact on promoting the construction of ecological civilization and beautiful China.
