Jibei Electric Power Plant of National Grid, which undertakes 75 percent of power transmission in Beijing, takes the No.1 in piloting the recycling instrument for SF6 in Beijing. During the piloting stage, the instrument has already recycled about 12 ton of SF6, equal to reduction of 284400 tons CO2 emission or the carbon emission of 50 Beijing Botanical Gardens in one year. On August 10th, 2012, the emission reduction in the first monitoring period of the project got the identification from the UN. The project is also the first new standard for SF6 reduction application in power industry around the world.
It is introduced that the National Grid will promote the usage of this SF6 recycling system on a national scale this year to reduce greenhouse gases’ negative impact on environment.
