In October 2013, the China Water team completed the first draft of Emission Reduction Potential and Energy Efficiency Analysis of Urban Sewage Treatment Plants in Chengdu. Chengdu DRC organized local experts from Chengdu Water Authority, Sichuan Social Science Institute and Chengdu Wastewater Treatment Company to review the draft report. The review panel provided very positive comments to the study and recognized the analysis and findings could contribute to low carbon development in Chengdu. As part of the Chengdu Low-Carbon Development Blueprint Project the report, aims to help Chengdu meet the target of pollutant emission reduction and sewage treatment demand, and provide systematic and practical pathways to energy conservation, low-carbon and sustainable sewage treatment in Chengdu.
