New standards for home appliances to be implemented, threshold for energy conservation greatly raised

Recently, Standardization Administration announced that the new standards for home appliances will go into effect from October 1 this year. The standards apply to 5 categories: air conditioner, washing machine, smoke extractor and heat pump water heater.
The standards are stricter and energy conservation is expected to be greatly improved.
