China scheduling low carbon industry development program with investment of 2.3 trillion RMB on key projects

According to relative authorities on August 23rd, led by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Ministry of Transport, Housing and Urban Development Department and other departments are under intensive research and study to prepare the introduction of a package of measures to cope with climate changes and boost the development of green low-carbon industry. The measures will focus on energy conservation in key fields such as industry, construction, transportation and public facilities and urbanization and the development of series of low-carbon industries.
It is estimated that government investment on key projects of energy conservation and emission reduction will reach 2.3 trillion RMB during the current 12th Five-Year Plan and market share of highly energy-efficient technologies and equipment will increase from 5% currently to 30%.
"We will further research on pilot projects on low-carbon industry and commerce, low-carbon transportation, low-carbon cities and communities and low-carbon industry test zones. Our research also includes the subsidy policy on expanding green products consumption", told by Xie Zhenhua, the Deputy Minister of NDRC.
