China allocated 20 billion RMB to establish the China South-South Climate Cooperation Fund

U.S.-China Joint Presidential Statement on Climate Change, released on September 25, stated that both countries have realized the importance of supporting developing countries to achieve low-carbon and climate-friendly development, especially the least developed countries, small island nations and African countries. To reach this end, US promised 3 billion dollars to Green Climate Fund, and China earmarked 20billion RMB for the China South-South Climate Cooperation Fund, in order to strengthen other developing countries’ capacity of combating climate change. Both China and US are determined to make green and low-carbon transformation and climate construction with all the UNFCCC contracting parties.
