China coal consumption percentage will reduce to 57.3% by 2020

China Coal Cap Project issued the China Coal Consumption Cap Plan and Research Report at the “Looking Ahead to the “13th Five-Year Plan”: International Workshop on China Coal Cap Strategy”, co-sponsored by the China Coal Cap Project and China Energy Conservation Association, and co-organized by Children's Investment fund Foundation (UK) (CIFF), Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Energy Foundation China (EFC). According to the Report, by 2020, China total coal consumption is expected to be limited within 2.72 billion tons of standard coal (3.8 billion tons of physical quantity), the total energy consumption will be controlled to 4.74 billion tons of standard coal, the coal consumption percentage will reduce to 57.3% and the non-fossil energy percentage will increase to 15.2%.
