The International Energy Agency (IEA) released a report in Beijing on June 29. As stated in the report, air pollution has become the fourth biggest threat to human health following hypertension, dietary risk and smoking, and supervision-free or low-efficiency energy production and utilization have become the most important emission sources of man-made air pollutants to date. It is emphasized in the report that energy policies being and to be implemented are not enough to improve air quality even though comprehensive emission reduction is realized in various countries. In addition to strict emission management and control, vigorously promoting the development of clean energy is one of "prescriptions" given by the IEA to reduce air pollution.Click here to read the Chinese news
