Interpretation of G4: focus on index improves pragmatism, widely application still years to come

The GRI G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidlines was finally release in late May. According to experts, there will be a few companies in China to implement G4, however, they may need to prepare for failure as well. Behind every index, there are strict requirements. To fully understand the guidlines, companies will need a period of time to learn and adapt. The improvements in strategy and management are also required to fully implement G4. G4 wil remain to be one of the highest standards for a period of time, and the companies that tried it first will take the lead.
