Ningxia is making great efforts to improve green buildings and has achieved satisfactory results in energy conservation. By the end of 2012, Ningxia has built 831 million square meters of energy-saving buildings, accounting for 48.72% of existing residents buildings and contributing 17.84% of the emission reduction targets.

As the promotion region for energy conservation, Ningxia focuses on the application of conservation technology in the buildings while improving industrial recycling. Here are some of the measures, firstly, implement energy saving on existing buildings; secondly, conduct mandatory civil solar water system , thus to fully utilize clean energy; thirdly, promote technoligies such as heat insulation on exterior walls, solar water supply and high-efficient energy-conserving ovens with bio-energy.
