On 13th June, 2012, as a new member of CBCSD (China Business Council for Sustainable Development), Pirelli held an APAC suppliers convention in Hixih industrial park，Yanzhou, Shandong province. Pirelli has introduced its policy on company development, sustainability strategy, suppliers and supply chain management. Pirelli also has put forward the strategy and willing in being the top leader in global marketing. Mr. Li Xiangyu, the assistant director of CBCSD, also presented the convention and gave a speech.
At first, Mr. Niu Yishun, the Chairman of Hixih group, gave a warm welcoming speech to all the Pirelli leaders from Milan and all suppliers. He also hoped that Hixih and Pirelli will make a deeper cooperation in the future. Then Pirelli expressed and explained to all suppliers about the company development strategy, global purchasing strategy on raw material, natural rubber, industrial equipment, and policy of Pirelli supplier management. Also Pirelli answered the questions that put forward by the participants.
Ms. Eleonora Giada Pessina, the Pirelli global sustainability manager, also introduced the achievements of Pirelli on sustainability management, the goals and vision of Pirelli sustainability plan in 2015, the sustainable supply chain management mode and audit evaluation method. Also the convention invited Mr. Li Xiangxu, who is from CBCSD, to introduce the main projects and effects of CBCSD on Chinese industrial and commercial sustainability fields. He appealed to Pirelli and its suppliers to attend the signature project CSR“1+3”of CBCSD on supply chain management, and share the company’s social responsibility together.
When talking about the Pirelli APAC developing strategy, the CEO of Pirelli APAC, Mr. Borgo Gregorio pointed that Yanzhou factory is a key part of Pirelli global strategy, Pirelli will keep investing and improving the production capacity of tyres in Yanzhou. Pirelli will concentrate on premium tyres marketing, and achieve the premium product quality, supply chain, suppliers and marketing together.
During the convention, Pirelli also invited all suppliers to visit the Yanzhou factory to know about the construction and production of the factory.
Pirelli joined the CBCSD in February 2012 as an official member. Pirelli and CBCSD will make a deeper cooperation on the fields, such as road transportation security, CSR together
